Picking up Trash & Treasures on Vero's Beaches

Shell tornado by Kevin Lyons

Kevin and Lanette Lyons, are life long residents of Vero Beach, Florida.  With our backyard the Atlantic Ocean, we enjoy walking the beach picking up treasures & trash.  We began collecting all types of shells perfect and imperfect, shark teeth, beach rock and sea glass.  With our treasures we began to create one of a kind shell art collectibles to create a unique and unmatched atmosphere for the home. Original art that provokes conversation and engage the senses.

When you buy something from our store gallery, you are buying more than just an object. You are buying hundreds of hours of errors and experimentation.  You are buying years of frustration and moments of pure joy.  You are not just buying one thing, you are buying a piece of our heart, a piece of our soul….a small piece of our lives.  Thank you!

All seashells are handpicked, cleaned and then carefully assembled into a piece of art that is part collage, part mosaic AND part sculpture.

We import in REAL Collectible Coral from Coral Farms in the Philippines in our Etsy Store.

RARE Appreciating Collectible - REAL - Beautiful natural blue coral for display.  Each piece varies to how it was grown.  12"-14".  Prior to shipping we will send you picture the actual coral being shipped since they naturally vary.  We package this coral very well - but some minor breakage may happen during shipping.

These REAL blue corals can retail over $1000 each. They are NOT man made/faux like many for sale on the internet.

Corals are increasing in value due to increasingly limited supply.  These are farmed and take several years to grow.  NO more harvesting allowed from reefs therefore supply is limited.

CORAL FARMING

The coral farms we order our corals from donate two corals back to restore reefs for every coral we/you purchase.

How long does it take coral to grow an inch?

The massive corals are the slowest growing species, adding between 5 and 25 millimeters (0.2–1 inch) per year to their length. Branching and staghorn corals can grow much faster, adding as much as 20 centimeters (8 inches) to their branches each year. Coral reefs grow best in warm water (70–85° F or 21–29° C).

Why are so many corals white?  Coral bleaching, a process by which reef-building corals lose their algae and turn white, has long thought to be a result of faulty photosynthesis caused by high temperatures. Note the symbiotic algae, symbiodinum (the brown dots) in the tissue of the animal tissue.

Sea Shells & Corals Proven To Improve Your Life

Did you know, every place has its own aura and energy field? And, in Feng Shui, the Chinese version of Vaastu Shastra, many objects are used to enhance the positive energies of a place.

Seashells are one such object which invites good vibes into your home or the workplace. People who holiday on seashores inevitably pickup shells from the beach, which they casually place around the home, unaware of its powers. Well, in Feng Shui, seas-shells come loaded with luck.

Just as in Hindu faith, where conch shells and cowrie shells are used in puja, these two types of shells are particularly significant. Because of their association with the sea, which connects distant places, shells are supposed to enhance travel luck as well as strengthen long-distance relationships.  Seashells also provide relief from stress and offer a protective shield. Shells are also a symbol of good communication, positive and healthy relationships and prosperity.

CORAL ARE APPRECIATING COLLECTOR ITEMS

Some shells & corals are quite valuable, worth tens of thousands even hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Corals that are harvested from farms aboard now are appreciating in value the longer you own them.  5% -15% PER YEAR APPRECIATION.  There is such a demand - the value has increased substantially.  It is illegal to harvest coral & shells from live reefs - therefore supplies are limited.

What is the most expensive coral? Mushroom Polyp - $20,000+
